Bob is a proud North Carolina native, born and raised in the small countryside community of Tyro, outside of Lexington NC.  He was raised by his single mother and grandparents, which taught him the value of a dollar, a firm handshake and an honest day's work.  After graduating with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Business Administration and Art Marketing from Appalachian State University, he received a five-year position as a Downtown Redeveloper for the Town of Wadesboro.  With as interest in historic preservation and a drive to increase property value, Bob placed the downtown business district on the National Register of Historic Places and embarked on administering and directing a $750,000.00 streetscape enhancement project.  The downtown district received new underground utilities, sidewalks, curbing, street pavement, landscaping and the façade renovation of 23 downtown commercial buildings.  After a five-year term in downtown redevelopment, Bob carried interests derived from his mother's real estate company/investing and created Hanes Renovations, a residential and commercial renovation company specializing in painting and remodeling.  After a short time, he directed his attention solely to the commercial painting industry.  Hanes Renovations has experienced years of success with partnerships ranging from local municipalities, Carolina based construction companies and the United Postal Service.  With years of constant support from his wife April, Bob and the Hanes Renovations staff proudly celebrates 25 years in Business!!
